The Festival A celebration of Suffolk's thriving food & drink scene The Festival takes place in the beautiful setting of Snape Maltings. Next to the River Alde and close to the Suffolk coast, where reed-covered marshlands stretch into the distance towards Aldeburgh. With over 100 food and drink producers from Suffolk, many from just a few miles away, all gathered to sell their produce including raw milk, organic vegetables, sourdough bread, award winning beer and spirits from sponsors Adnams, cyder from Aspall and delicious streetfood. The Festival is truly family friendly with free tickets for under 15s with free children's activities and hands on cooking workshops. Not only is there an amazing array of local produce but the festival also has 2 cookery demonstration stages hosting visiting and local chefs. Over the past few years we have had some amazing chefs come to Suffolk to include; Valentine Warner, Henry Harris, Thomasina Miers, Sabrina Ghayour, Natalie Colemann, Jane Baxter to name but a few. Planning is now underway for the 2018 festival For the weekend of 29th and 30th of September, Snape Maltings will once again be filled with the finest local produce, celebrity chefs, and food and drink lovers travelling from far and wide. On Saturday the Festival will be open from 9.30am – 5pm and on Sunday from 9.30am – 4pm.Situated on the river Alde in a landscape of open skies, marshland, and reedbeds, the historic Victorian maltings at Snape are the best-preserved brick malt kilns in Britain and are home to the world-famous concert halls of the Aldeburgh Festival of Music as well as a collection of shops selling food, kitchen-ware, crafts, art, books and much else. In this uniquely beautiful setting, the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival has become established as one of the foremost food festivals in Britain, while the whole area has become a food destination.
